Old Forge is a recreational oasis located at the beginning of the Fulton Chain of Lakes.  .  This little town is surrounded by some of the most unique natural beauty you will ever see.  It is well known for its world famous 75 mile canoe race through the heart of the Adirondacks wilderness, with it all beginning here at the start of the Fulton Chain of Lakes. The Fulton Chain of Lakes run right through the middle of Old Forge.   Old Forge is also known for it's over 500 miles of trails  that are used each year offering snowmobiling,  X - country & down hill sking at McCauley Mountain (known as The best little Mt. in Central New York),snowshoeing,  hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Other area activities include boating, swimming, water skiing, fishing, canoeing, white water rafting, camping, golfing, scenic railroad rides, concerts, snow shoeing, ice fishing, movies, bowling and white water rafting. 

The village offers several family owned and operated restaurants and gift shops with great food and wonderful Adirondack souvenirs.

After visiting the Adirondacks just once, it will be an adventure that you will want to experience again and again.
